1. Vision Videos

This week we’ll make short stop-motion animated videos to propose  tangible interactions.  Here is an example:

Please come prepared on Tuesday September 1 with one or more “what-if” propositions to explore in a stop-motion video.  See the example propositions in the ‘fashion metamorphosis’ video above.

Please bring a camera and a laptop (we’ll work in groups of 2 or 3 people, one camera and laptop per group), and whatever you need to move pictures from the camera onto the laptop.

We’ll make the videos during class time on Tuesday; each group will then post their video.

(For a short paper on using stop-motion animation to prototype tangible interfaces, see http://doi.acm.org/10.1145/1517664.1517729)

    What if …

… your dinner table could answer questions?

    … rooms could remember?

… your house could play with you?

    … your toaster was moody?

… your bed woke you up when you’re having a bad dream?
